Walter von Lucadou is a physicist and psychologist, which he studied at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg and the Free University of Berlin. He is considered a worldwide leading researcher in the field of parapsychology, specifically in systems theory and borderline areas of psychology.

After receiving a doctoral degree from both Universities, von Lucadou worked as Physicist at the Kiepenheuer Insitute for Solar Physics in Freiburg, as research assistant at the Department of Psychology and Borderline Areas of Psychology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and as Visiting Professor at the Parapsychology Laboratory of Utrecht University (NL). In 1989 he founded the Parapsychological Counselling Centre of the Scientific Society for the Promotion of Parapsychology (WGFP) in Freiburg which he has headed ever since.

Walter von Lucadou was co-publisher of several journals, among which the Zeitschrift für Parapsychologie und Grenzgebiete der Psychologie (Journal for Parapsychology and Frontier Areas of Psychology) and the journal Cognitive Systems of the European Society for the Study of Cognitive Systems (ECCSC). He also acted as scientific advisor for the six-part ARD documentary Dimension PSI on the greatest unsolved parapsychological mysteries broadcast in 2003 and has published more than 300 scientific and popular articles and 10 books about physics, psychology, system theory, and parapsychology.
